Spell description

This spell enables the wizard to send forth black missiles of energy (onefor every experience level he has attained), each of which inflict 1D4 pointsof damage to the creature struck. The bolts are treated as missiles hurledby the wizard with a +5 bonus to attack rolls and with no penalty for range.

Bolts that miss have no firther effect. Thje wizard may discharge 1 boltper round. In addition to releasing the missile, the caster can performother actions in the round, including spellcasting, melee, or device use.Spells requiring concentration force the wizard to forgo the rest of themissiles to maintain concentration. Also, if the wizard fails to maintainan exact mental count of the number of missiles he has remaining, he hasinvoluntarily lost the remaining portion of the spell.

The spell ends when the caster has fired off as many missiles as he haslevels, when he forgoes casting any still remaining, or when a successfuldispel magic spell is thrown pon the caster.

The component necessary for the casting of the spell is a wand cut of ebonywith a black gem imbedded worth no less than 1000 gp, which is not expendedduring the casting.
